Jeanean - GREAT photo - but it sure doesn't make me want to visit the river....! ;)
Jeanean, That is kind of cool, to get that many spiders in the shot, I am not a huge fan of spiders, but it is a cool shot.
Hello Courtney, rather freaks a person out....NO? We found this place years ago and every time we go to Turtle Bay, I make David take my by there to check them out. At first I thought they were Black Widows...but they are not. They are big though! Could not resist. I think I got a close up of one...will post soon!
Sharon, thanks for the stop by and looksee! You do have to be careful down by the River....I always watch for the spiders! Have a great week!
Tony,,,,I thought it was worth a shot or two. They are everywhere along the River! Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
Jeanean - That almost looks like a Spider Camp Ground:-) I have noticed that even around my house, there are far more spiders than in past years. I am constantly knocking down webs, and trying to eradicate them! I guess it was the long winter, and the mild summer that has propogated the herd of them.
Is it Halloween yet? Those guys are everywhere! They do love being near the water though.
Whoa, mamma mia! What’s with all the spiders? Is this a Stephen King picture?
Hello Myrl, it is true. This does seem to be the year of spiders. We now live in a Frank Lloyd Wright home that has old growth trees. There are 2 Sequoia Redwood trees, an old Incense Cedar and the biggest Black Oak that I can remember. We love every aspect about the property but the spiders. I keep telling them they can have the top half and let us have the bottom half. It worked in Hawaii with the Geckos...but does not seem to be working here. Have a wonderful week and thanks for the visit!
Hello Paula, yes it does look like Halloween. I'll have to remember to do something with this for that day! Thanks for the visit.....the river is covered in these lovely creatures....all along the bank. Have a wonderful week!
Russell, you are funny....yes it looks like a Stephen King scene...for sure! These lovely creatures own the River all along the bank. I am always careful when we go there. The first time I saw them....I saw one and then two and then started to realize they were everywhere. I told my husband....that it was freaking me out. He made like it was no big deal.....and I wanted to leave. Yesterday, when I wanted to check them out...and got out of the car to photograph them....he was the one feeling freaked....funny, huh? Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
Um, I think I have said many times I'd like to visit Redding and Shasta Lake area some day....but now I'm rethinking. LOL-not really. Very cool shot Jeanean
Magoo! That's alot of spiders. Had a bad spider experience working road construction in college. We were installing some culverts that had been sitting in tall grass all summer. I was crawling through them to install the connecting hardware and as my eye adjusted to the low light I could see that the "ceiling" was moving.....covered in spiders.
OMG Jeanean...I hate spiders. But, I must say you capture them well in the photo :)
