New Social Buttons on ActiveRain Are Great for SEO

Reblogger Nikesh Parekh

This is a follow-up to my blog on the New SEO for Real Estate posted last night.  It is really important for all real estate professionals (and companies) to start incorporating their own social strategy into their blogging strategy.  With our new social buttons on your blog, you can syndicate out your content to the key social media platforms easily and quickly!

Original content by ActiveRain Real Estate Network

Our team has been hard at work developing a painless way to syndicate your content and stay connected.  May I introduce to you, Social Integration.  Sounds like a hard core rock n' roll band to me but it's something much more.

I hope all of you use Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  Google + is a the new kid on the block but many of you are already using it so we've included it in our new development.  Liking and sharing posts on social networks is critical to your SEO.  Making your readers aware of not just your own but other worthy posts is a great idea too.  Please be aware of your own competitive dynamics and do so accordingly.  Please DO NOT like or share Members Only Posts.  Consumers cannot open the links and they are not displaying correctly on the social networks.

Notice the Facebook, Google +, LinkedIn and Twitter buttons at the top of your posts, to the right of the Re-Blog Button:

These buttons will allow you to syndicate your blog content to any or all of the above listed social media outlets by clicking on them.  You can push your SEO power that much further by spreading your information to these major social networks outlets.

We've been experimenting and testing for weeks now to clear the problems we encounter so you don't have to.  But, just as with any new roll out, we ask you to let us know your experiences good or bad.

Want to feed your most recent post directly to Facebook?  Click "Mr. Thumbs Up" and you'll see:

*Facebook is currently grabbing any image of it's choice.  The majority of the time your profile picture will be chosen but not 100%.  If you do not like the way Facebook is displaying your link, please go direct to Facebook and upload your link manually.

Do your LinkedIn connections need to see your post?  You bet they do!  Click "in Share" icon and you'll see a window pop up:

Once you're ready to post to LinkedIn, click Share and you'll get a confirmation:

We are also testing the Facebook Recommendations widget on the homepage of AR; just another way to get on the front page:

Increase your traffic by expanding the reach of your blog.  Tweet your little hearts out, Google + til you can't stand it anymore!  We know how hard you work on your posts and we've made an easier time-saving way to feed your content to the world.  So do it!

Hi Niki, I love it.  I'm having trouble with the google+ button.  I've tried using chrome, explorer and both my PC and my office PC.  Any suggestions?

Hi Susan,

  1. Do you have a Google Plus account?
  2. If so, login to Google Plus.  If not, ask a friend for an invitation.
  3. Click +1 button on post.
  4. To see your +1's, go to Google Plus, click on profile, click on +1

It's not super intuitive, but that's how Google created it.  Your +1's do not get posted to your feed on Google Plus.

Hi Nikesh,

I saw the little buttons today.

Wondered how they got there, and what they do.

Now I know!

Hi Niki. this was a great addition. I noticed it first thing this morning, and I have already started to use them. Keep those improvements and updates coming in Active Rain.

I do have a google plus account.  When I click on the +1 I get a red exclamation point.  When I click that, I get this message:

+1 button errors

If the +1 button is unavailable or has stopped working, you'll see this image:

A +1 button error can occur for a variety of reasons, including the following:

  • Server timeout: Check your Internet connection and try refreshing the page.
  • Suspended profile: If your profile has been suspended, you won't be able to +1 content.
  • Apps user: Google profiles aren't available for Apps accounts, so you won't be able to use the +1 button.
  • Blocked cookies: If you've disabled 3rd party cookies in your browser you won't be able to use the +1 button.
I enabled cookies to my active rain blog.  Not sure what else I can do.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi Nikesh - The social media buttons are a great new feature to ActiveRain.  You had a very fast turnaround on it with respect to the Google+ version.

Hi Susan, I am not having that problem.  Seems to be working fine for me.  See below screen shot of my posts appearing in my +1's in my Google Plus account.

This is a great article. Thanks! Frankly it's downright foolish not to post the follow buttons for your social media accounts on your website.

It will be interesting to see the form and shape this altranete market would take and whether it would be modelled on junior unregulated markets in some european jurisdictions. SEBI will have to deal with numerous issues beginning with whether it is appropriate for retail investors to be able to participate in this segment or will it be more efficient for this market to be institutions-only.
