Prayer for the Day

As Christians, we are called to have compassion on others. Jesus is our example of reaching out to those in need, the outcasts, the physically and spiritually sick, the unloved, the poor, the lonely… We are to be the "hands" God uses to minister to others. Today, when so many are suffering, what can you do to help? Maybe your family member, your neighbor…or even someone across the world is desperate, without food or shelter. You may offer one-on-one assistance, donate through your church's benevolent ministry or even through a trusted Christian organization such as World Vision (http://www.WorldVision.org) or Samaritan's Purse (http://www.Samaritan'sPurse.org), among others. Let's show God's love and compassion in our prayers and through our actions. May God bless you and meet your every need as you serve Him in whatever way He calls you.

Dear Father in Heaven, I lift up all the hungry and homeless around the world. Please show me what you want me to do. Please open doors for the needy to rise up; send the help you know they need; and bless all who reach out to assist. Please protect the needy and the providers who are often in harm's way. May your love surround each one and your presence be felt. I believe in miracles…that the world may know you are God. In Jesus' name, amen.
