You've finished painting and you have a half gallon left that you know you will never use. You have a whole collection of bug sprays and household cleaners that just take up space in your garage. We use chemicals and toxic substances every day. But these items tend to accumulate, what do you do when it is time to get rid of them? Throwing them in the garbage isn't a good option. These toxic chemicals can leach out of the landfill and into our water supply, causing major problems down the line.
Every year, usually in the Spring time, they set up collection stations throughout the area to collect your left over hazardous wastes. But what can you do if you don't want to wait until then, or if you missed the date?
