Focus On What's Important, Ignore Everything Else, To Get Rich

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Heart ClockI was reading an article in today's tighter economy of how to focus on core things in your life economically, foregoing much of the frills and that would be your path to "richness." You know, coupon cutting, giving up cable, unlisted number phone charges, gourmet coffee, excessive meals out, etc.

I know "richness" has many forms, the material, your work, your passions, even in the spiritual realm our "eternal" riches. But I thought the title here very much beyond tough economic times and trying to navigate your way to being "rich" materially how about not WHAT'S important but WHO in your life is important.

Surely looking at a pie chart of time in your life or another one of energy you expend in your life, for your family, friends, significant other, ANYONE who you have in your top five or top ten IMPORTANT people, how are you doing with your focus, to get to a RICH relationship?

Happy FamilySo you may ask, UNLIKE the budget cutting your way to prosperity, HOW do you get those SUPER SUPER rich relationships?

  • Identify who are your IMPORTANT people, know this VERY clearly in your mind, with NO DOUBTS
  • SPEND MORE TIME with them. Delete time from others not on the list. Text, email, or call them and ask "HOW ARE YOU???"
  • PUT MORE ENERGY into them. Your caring, love, EFFORT in their lives will not go unnoticed
  • Check with them how YOU are doing? People will be amazingly honest with you

Who among us does not want MORE rich relationships?? Also if someone does not reciprocate with you long term thinking they are important and you are not, you may want to reconsider if they belong on your list.

Love is so vital to our social well being in society and in our own personal lives. Boost your love for others at every chance you get. You create "RICH" relationships by focusing on WHO'S important and downplaying the rest.... NOT giving too much time and attention and energy to the unimportant ones.

Rich in relationship sometimes is equally important as rich in the bank account. One can't be great without the other.

Having lived in 3 different continents during the course of my life, I have friends, as well as family, in different countries. So, I try to keep in touch with them at least once a year with a personal note with Christmas cards, Chinese New cards …….  And there is always the phone calls and e-mails. I have to admit, I should do more of it. Thank you for he post.

Always put your family first. Daily count your blessings, morning noon and night. If you live below your means, don't clutter it with stuff you don't need, you are rich. No debt and grateful is rich. Best time to get in to real estate IS when the business is harder, incline steeper. You get started right and sink or swim, greater awareness hapens.

Great post.

At Keller Williams, we are not corporate owned but still family owned and and very spiritual and cultural.

We have a simple philosophy.

God First, Family second, Work next, and everything else.

When your focus is placed in the right order of importance, everything happens as it should.

And your relationship is no different.  Place the importance of family over work and you will be fine.

Great post Gary!  I wrote one recently on how to be successful and it all starts with being happy and having your priorities right!  If I wake up happy, joyous and free every day then I am a success!  It's not about money but true happiness.  Oddly enough, happy people are never poor!

I agree,'' rich'' has a different meaning for each of us. I invest in memories and experiences with those I love and adore. The rest comes out of it.
