Wait One Moment....

Didn't You Promise Tomorrow Will Be Better Than Yesterday?

Life has a practice of living you, if you don’t live it. - By Philip Larkin.

Although these words may seem harsh yet powerful, it may be difficult to find more appropriate words to describe daily habits.

Have you ever ended a day thinking maybe tomorrow will be better?

Then tomorrow comes, and you think okay maybe tomorrow will be better…..

Then again another day comes, and you think okay the next tomorrow will be better?

Oops… before you know it your living daily, weekly, monthly or even year after year waiting and thinking tomorrow will be better.

But the real question and test to verify if tomorrow will be better is,

What are you currently doing purposefully and intentionally right now at this very defying moment to really make tomorrow better? I bet that hurts! Doesn’t it?

If you’re like most people, your honest answer is nothing!

Remember in the famous words of Philip Larkin “life has a practice of living you, if you don’t live it.”

So, where do you go from here….

Let’s at least pause to take a look at yesterday, what went well? Write them down…..

What things could be improved? Write them down….

Let’s purposely and intentionally work to improve everything that we do by at least 1% daily to guarantee that our tomorrow will be better!

1% isn’t much right?

Well, after 100 days, based on the compounding principle, do you realize that you could cumulatively improve my 100% ?

Need help focusing and getting better by at least 1% daily? Why not find a self improvement buddy or coach to challenge you?

All The Best!

Remember Slowly and Steadily....

Hi Diane,
Thanks for stopping by.
Sitting, waiting and hoping won’t help to achieve much.
We have to take action and make things great...

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for stopping by.
Completely agree with you, it does take work and tremendous effort especially in the beginning stages but the bright side is, as time goes by, things could become easier.
Have a fabulous week making it great!

Hi Wandanna, "slow and steady wins the race" that's what we tell our daughters! 1% is realistic and doable. Being realistic is such an integral part of every goal we set - otherwise there will be disappointment and we are back to: "oh, tomorrow ... ". Loved your blog!

Good stuff Wandanna. I believe that we need to consciously choose how we are going to live and then follow through on those decisions. Thanks.

1% better each day is not that hard, but very few do it. I have been guilty of that too.  I have refocused in the last week or so and returned the corner so I feel good about that.

I think the key is to stop and think about what you did right and what you'd like to do better...then execute on it. Thanks for sharing.

Wandanna, I have known for sometime now that what we do today will have a Big effect on our Tomorrows. Therefore, This week have added someone to hold me accountable for my daily and weekly actions.

We have no one to blame for our tomorrows except ourselves. Thanks for the Reminder!

Good morning Wandanna:  Each morning I try to remember to say, "Something good is going to happen to me today," before I get out of bed.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  Your post is right on the money!  I had a coach and it helped me to refocus.

@Nancy Pav:  I agree that you have to stop and reflect on what you did right.  What worked and what didn't.  Focus on the positive things that made your day a great one.
