Is a picture really worth a thousand words??
If it is, there are a lot of hungry bloggers out there wanting to add a thousand words to each and every one of their posts. (What a way to get past the 50 word minimum eh?)
Hopefully I can help.
Here is a step by step way of how to add pictures to your next post.
1.) Type in what you want. Sometimes the easiest way to go is to type what you want and then fill in the pictures before your final edit of your text.
2.) Place the cursor in the line you want your picture to start it.
3.) Press the Insert/Edit Image button
If you have the Image on your PC, Skip Ahead to step 9 If you are using a Photo hosted on the internet Continue.
4.) Copy the Image location of the Image you want to use and Paste it into the "Image URL" text box.
5.) Type the Image Description and Title in. I usually make these the same. Image description appears when someone browses the internet without pictures being shown, while the title appears when you move the mouse over the picture.
6.)Click the Appearance Tab and Select the Text Formatting you want around the picture. There is a little example photo with text displayed next to the Selection and it changes to allow you to see how the text will wrap around the picture.
7.) Size, Borders and Location. The size I usually edit after the picture is inserted so I can see how the text is affected by the picture. Vertical Space defines how much space is between the picture and the text above it while Horizontal Space defines how much space is on either side of the picture. The larger the number you insert, the farther the text will be away from the picture. If you want a border, enter a number equivalent to how many pixels thick you want the border. Throughout all these changes, the example picture will change to reflect how the image will appear.
8.) Click Insert and there the picture will appear!
For those of us with the picture on the PC..... following from step 3
9.) Click the box next to the Image Location Text Box... as shown in the picture.
10.) Click the Browse button to find it on your hard drive or other storage device. This works just like attaching something to an email.
11.) Once you find the file, click Open and the file location should appear in the text box. After that click the "Upload Photo" button and proceed to step 5
I hope this step by step breakdown (with my beautiful screenshots to boot) help you insert and edit those additional "1000 words" into your post.
Happy Hunting!
