The 2011 Tour de Poway is over and everyone at the Bougher Park aid station had a great time. The Kiwanis Club of San Marcos is in charge of the aid station at Helen Bougher Park in San Marcos, which is at about mile marker 41 in the 100 mile Tour de Poway. This is a great fundraiser for our Kiwanis club and the proceeds go to help the children of North San Diego County. The Kiwanis Club of San Marcos is involved with a literacy program and donates hundreds of books to the local elementary schools.
In addition to the 100 mile bike ride, the Tour de Poway also had 4 other, shorter courses ranging from 18 to 62 miles. The Tour de Poway is held every year on the first Sunday of October.
