Planking in Summit County, Colorado
Lately in our local paper the Summit Daily News, the column "Summit Up" has been featuring pictures of locals in Summit County Colorado planking. What is planking you ask? Here is a definition from Wikipedia:
"Planking" (or the "Lying Down Game") is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game.[1] Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play.[1] The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank. Rigidity of the body must be maintained to constitute good planking.
Planking has been around since as early as 1994 but became well known in 2009 and extremely popular in 2011. Does your community or city have citizens that plank as well? Or is there another strange activity that locals are participating in?
