Pumpkin Picking Near Canton MA
If you live in Canton MA, the best and closest place to get your pumpkins is at Ward's Berry Farm right next door in Sharon MA. Ward's is a family farm, run by brothers Jim and Bob Ward. The farm sells fresh fruits and vegetables, along with delicious baked goods, jams and more. In the summer there is an abudance of annuals, perennials and vegetables you can buy for your own home garden. In the winter you can get freshly cut Christmas Trees. Year-round there is always something good at Ward's.
My favorite time of the year, however, is Autumn when can pick pumpkins directly from the giant Pumpkin Patch. If there is a Great Pumpkin, I'm pretty sure that's where he would hang out! You can either walk out to the pumpkin patch or, during the eekends, take a hayride out there for a nominal fee. Hayrides and pumpkin picking are open all the way through October 30th, but I wouldn't wait that long! In addition to pumpkins, you can also get your fall mums and outside decorations, like cornstalks.
Wards also has a children's play area and picnic area that customers can use, free of charge. There is also a giant hay pyramid made of hay bales that the kids can climb and play on - also free of charge. The Sunnyrock 4H Club keeps their animals at Wards as well so you can also go feed the sheep and goats.
School and other groups can reserve private hay rides and pumpkin picking. It's a great place for a child's birthday as well!
