Lake Charles LA has an exciting development in the works with Mojito Pointe! It was announced earlier this week that Mojito Pointe will be backed by the MGM brand.
If you have never been to Las Vegas you may never have experienced the grand MGM resort properties. Two weeks ago I visited Vegas and discovered that the Bellagio, Luxor, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, The Hotel at Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, The Mirage and New York New York are just a few of the MGM resort international properties.
The exciting announcement from Creative Casinos managing partner Dan Lee was that his bid to obtain $400 million in financing for the construction and opening of Mojito Pointe casino resort in Lake Charles will be aided with a management agreement with MGM Resorts International.
MGM will invest in the Mojito Pointe project, but the management agreement goes much deeper than just a financial commitment. Mojito Pointe is set to be completed in 2013, it will be a 21 month construction process.
Once completed, Mojito Pointe will sit on 242 acres of property owned by the Port of Lake Charles, next door to Pinnacle Entertainment’s L’Auberge casino resort. Mojito Pointe will have 1,500 slot machines and 50 table games, along with a 2,500-capacity showroom, spa, tennis center, school of falconry and a 18-hole golf course.
Mojito Pointe will be a $400,000,000 casino resort and is an exciting development for Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish. The Mojito Pointe casino will also create new jobs and bring new residents to the Lake Charles area stimulating both our economy and our real estate market.
I began to write about Mojito Pointe as a winner for Calcasieu Parish earlier this year when Lake Charles residents had the opportunity to vote on the Mojito Pointe Project. Mojito Pointe was approved by 77% of Calcasieu Parish voters on April 30, 2011.
I experienced first hand the positive impact that a project like Mojito Pointe can be for Lake Charles. I was part of the L'Auberge Casino opening marketing team in 2005. Since L'Auberge opened its doors in May 2005 they have become partners in the Lake Charles community giving back to Calcasieu Parish in many ways. During the next 21 months, it will be exciting to watch the development of Mojito Pointe who will be breaking ground soon.
Lake Charles LA is associated with the big boys in Vegas now with MGM Resorts International backing Mojito Pointe!
