How Much Is A Job Worth

After reading Tim's Blog, I had to re-blog it, he is so right. A few have bought into the "Green Job" idea, yet the technology does not work well enough to make a profit. What is happening is the American Taxpayers are indirectly rewarding those who made large contributions to their favorite candidates the last couple of election cycles and are not being re-paid (many times over) for those $$$. Those handing out the "money for Green Jobs" are hoping that some of that comes around again.

When will this nonsense stop???

How Much Is A Job Worth

I read an interesting column in The Orange County Register by Deroy Murdock where he describes how much the green jobs cost us.  In Solyndra  1100 jobs or $479,000 per job.  It was short term because they are all unemployed now.  The American households or taxpayers are on the hook for $527 million.

In Sept. $737,000 million loan guarantee for Nevada's Solar Reserve Project.  It promisses 600 jobs at $1.23 million a job.  But only 45 are perment jobs at $16.4 million each.

In Sept. Sempra Energy's Mesquite Solar Project in Arizona got $337 million and promises 300 jobs in construction or $1.12 million each.  They will get 7 permanent jobs at $48.1 million a job.

$20 million to weatherize homes in the Seattle Area.  16 months later there are 14 administrative jobs at 1.42 million apiece.  Total number of homes that have used this service and been retrofitted?  Count them three.

Hopewell Junction, New York's Spectra Watt, Inc got $500,000 (no record of the number of employee) went broke all employee's unemployed.

Evergreen Solar $5.3 million their employees also unemployed and the company failed.

Mountain Plaza, Inc went bankrupt in 2003.  None the less its "truck stop electrification" technology won $424,000 in EPA stimulus.  Their employee's now unemployed due to bankruptcy filed June 2010.

BNP Paribas, ethanol oriented Olsen Mill Acquisition with $10 Million.  Even though they had gone bankrupt in 2009.

The fun does not stop here.  The American Tax Payer is now funding foreign companies.  Solar Trust, an American subsidiary of Germany's Solar Millennium got $2.1 in loan guarantee for a solar power facility in Blyth, CA.

1.2 billion guarantee for Spain's Abengoa Solar for its Mojave, CA facility.  It also got 1.45 for Abengoa's Gila Bend, Arizona, outpost.

This is not working and we are all going broke while we gamble on these schemes.

So we count the ones who got jobs and them were jobless because the gamble did not work.  The 2 million jobs created will still count these jobs,  the cost in money is to high per job and we cannot sustain this.  The President wants more money to give to his friends and waist our money and borrow it from China.  This is getting old.
