Barbara, This is good information for people who live in the area. We had so much rain that I know there will not be any restrictions in our area.

Hi Barbara - Is this because you have a drought going on?

Barbara: Hope and prayers that the rains come soon. Just because the 100 degree days are gone, doesn't mean you are without your problems. Very informative post.

Barbara- Hard to believe you guys are having water restrictions in November.  Hope you get some relief soon.  We've had it here in Florida and it's always hard trying to remember which days you can water.

Ginny - we thought for a while that we were not going to be water restricted, we got through those 100+ degree days, and now in the fall it has caught up with us.

Hello Barbara,

I guess you want to be like we are here. We have only had 2.7 inches of rain for the entire year. The normal amount is 7.5 inches.

I expect water restrictions to begin really soon as well. I hope we can get a lot of runoff from the winter snows, but that's still months away.

Hope the rains start soon for both of us.

Have a great day in Heath, Texas.

Best, Clint McKie

Barbara:  Smart information to get in Heath TX consumers hands (or on their screens).  No sense in anyone getting a fine for watering when/what they aren't supposed to.

Some think those fines won't be imposed but I can tell you in our community the top fine for a first offense was given to one of my neighbors.  They ended up installing a special sprinkler system and the city did adjust the fine to $300 but the new system cost them $3,000.  Ouch!  I have even played good neighbor by stopping when I see the water going off on off water days to write a note to the homeowner to let them know.  Some might think that was being a nosy neighbor but I'd love it if someone did that for me if I was not watering correctly.

Barbara,  As I type this, I am hearing a great sound and that's rain hitting my windows.... Yippeee. It's a great sound to hear.  Here in Boerne we went to Stage three back in July.  We've had some good showers lately which were desperately needed because of the wild fires in our area.  Hopefully Rockwall will get some much needed rain too.
