Being Broke Doesn't Mean You Lack Style!

These days every business is trying to gain your business. They are offering weekly clearance, larger coupons and the like to entice you into their stores. Shopping these can give you a great selection when you are on a budget.

If you have a REALLY tight budget, you still have options. Second hand stores, especially the ReStore by habitat is a great place to find hidden gems! A lot of items are donated after estate sales or when they just aren't needed. The stock is constantly changing and you can always find something that you can use or even refurbish.

So do some shopping and see what you can find.

Some of the BEST ways to bring life to an older item is to:

Sand and Paint. Go to Home Depot or Lowes or any Paint Store and see what they have in way of toss paint, paint that was mixed but the color was wrong and was returned. This is always cheap!

Reupholster. Adding some new fabric can really bring old chairs and couches to life! Go to JoAnnes fabric or other online stores to find inexpensive fabric at great prices. Just make sure you are using fabric that is made for the intended use. Also, Etsy.com has some fantastic hand made fabrics! If you choose to go with a solid color for a couch, spice it up with some throw pillows with crazy patterns! This can make a huge difference in the appearance. Match your flowers, and accent pieces to your pillows.

Change with the Seasons. A great way to change the entire look of the room without changing your furniture is to just get new pillow covers, and different colored accents that match. This can be a VERY efficient way to create a completely different look for not a lot of $$$. Change them out as you please.

I hope this helps! You don't have to change everything or buy anything new. Just keep your eyes open for certain stores. You never know what you will find!

Happy Hunting!

Ben,

This is definitely good advice, especially in this economy (even if it is slightly on the mend).

Ben, great advice in this post, being stylish doesn't have to be all that expensive if you are willing to put the work in.
