This is one of our favorite photos from last years snow here in Murphy, NC.  We usually don’t get this much snow all at once and not usually over Christmas week either. Nothing could be better than snow at Christmas in the mountains!

Merry Christmas from Murphy, NC!

Rob, this actually used to be our barn when we first moved to NC so this barn had a little extra meaning to us too.

Christopher, we love Lake Apalachia! It is the only lake in our Tri-State area controlled by the TVA that doesn't lower the water levels in the winter. Looks like a postcard all year long!

You're welcome Alexandra. Wishing you and Ron a wonderful Christmas and prosperous New Year.

No better place than the mountains to celebrate Christmas, Connie!

Rebecca, snow or not there's something so special about the season when you're in the mountains. Much different than when we lived in FL!

Thanks Jeff, we love living here and wish everyone could be here to enjoy Christmas in the mountains with us too.

We thought so too Andrea. Everything looks better with a little snow covering it!

Oh gosh, that reminds me of the Christmas trips up the mountains to visit my grandparents.  In the big city, we don't see barns so, it was always a treat to see the snow covered barns as we drove up for the holidays.  Such wonderful childhood memories seeing that--thanks for sharing!

I know what you mean Debe. My grandparents lived in Yancey County in the small town of Burnsville, NC. We spent all our summers and vacations there as we lived in Florida. So different from the city and maybe those memories are what got us closer to that lifestyle and here in Murphy, NC - just three hours away from Burnsville.
