Listing Your Home: Anticipation

Let me give you one of the most compelling reasons I can think of: no matter how many bases you think you’ve covered, or problems you think you’ve anticipated, it helps to have the right person in your corner when the time comes to list your home.

One of the most frustrating things for a Realtor is coming into the process after you’ve already tried to sell your own home. At that point, we’re concentrating as much on damage control as we are on the marketing of your home. You’re frustrated, and understandably so. But you could spare yourself so much frustration by picking up the phone the moment you think of selling!

See, the first inkling you may have of even the possibility of a problem is when it’s already happened. At that point, you’re scrambling to solve the problem, researching things with which you may not be familiar when you may not even know exactly what the problem is. It’s not entirely your fault. You’ve already got a day job that you do very well, whether you’re an accountant, salesperson, or mechanic. But nobody ever told you that selling a home would be like this…

Which is precisely where I come in. Just the same as a mechanic hears something a little “off” and knows that your transmission’s not as healthy as you thought, my job as a Realtor is to anticipate the problems that can happen before they happen, and to already know what needs to be done to solve them. Sometimes we get lucky and things go very smoothly. But when they don’t, I don’t panic, and you don’t have to, either. My experience has taught me to respond, not react; I have the tools, and the knowledge, to apply the right solution to the problem because I’ve already been there before. And even when I’m in uncharted territory – which doesn’t happen very often – I have the training, resources, and network to fall back on that allow me to work quickly and effectively in your best interests.

There wasn’t much trouble because Cheryl was very knowledge. It went well. It sold in a week and a half. In this market. Can you believe it?
