Celebrate the holidays with lots of laughs as the Alden Studio Rep performs "The Most Amazing Christmas Play Series in the Entire History of the World." This series of short plays is sure to bring a little holiday merriment to your weekend. 8 p.m. (Also Dec. 17.)  McLean Community Center's Alden Theatre.  $10 ($5/McLean Tax District residents.) Enjoy holiday music and cheer at Santa's Hayride and Lakeside Winter Village. Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and settle in to hear classic winter tales told around a toasty campfire. Also, visit with Santa and tell him what’s on your wish list. Remember to bring a camera. Well-socialized, leashed pets are welcome to join in the photo. Dress for the weather and plan on a brisk walk from the parking lot. Hayrides run every 30 minutes. 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Lake Accotink Park. $8/person (ages 2 and younger admitted free.) Air Heart: Daring aerial acrobatics are performed atop a 12-foot spinning airplane sculpture by aerial-actor Mara Neimanis as she brings to life legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart, who disappeared trying to fly around the world. Through original script, historical fact and poetic aerialism, Neimanis invokes Earhart’s mystery and final flight. 8 p.m. Reston Community Center's CenterStage. $30 ($15/non-residents.) Ballroom Social Dance: Dancing, food and fun! Led by an instructor (with a pre-dance mini lesson available, $5/person.)  Complimentary refreshments and cash bar available. All skill levels are welcome. Dress is casual. Doors open at 7 p.m., mini-lesson from 7:30 to 8 p.m. and open dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Workhouse Arts Center. $10/person. Tickets available online. Candlelight Tours: Tour the 1794 home of Northern Virginia’s first congressman, Richard Bland Lee. Hear seasonal music, make an ornament, and sample sugar cookies. Hear 19th century fiddling by Michael McDonnell. Witness Confederate officers dining at Sully as JEB Stuart's cavalry did in December 1862. See what goes into the Christmas box being packed for soldiers in the field. Ladies make their own holiday decorations. Watch as members of the 28th Virginia Infantry cook Christmas dinner in the yard. 4:45 to 7 p.m. (Tours run every 15 minutes.) Sully Historic Site. $10/adults, $7/seniors and children. Barred Owls Campfire: Enjoy an evening hike and campfire as you learn about owls and meet the resident barred owl. Then return to a warm campfire to roast marshmallows. Snuggle up with snowman soup (hot cocoa) as you listen to "Flakey the (naked) Snowman," an inspiring tale of friendship and charity as read by local author Amy Tubbs. Flakey donates all his clothes to the needy and his snow people friends decide to celebrate the season by embracing charity. Tubbs will demonstrate how she created scenes from the book with 3-D models for the photographs, and will work with children in creating their own 3-D snow people. Rockin' Hanukkah:  Get ready to kick off those eight crazy nights with Yosi and the Superdads' mix of kid-friendly klezmer, rock and ska. The Festival of Lights get lit up as these children's music superstars take the stage with a fun and funny interactive concert featuring Hebrew and English sing-alongs, both traditional and original. The Israeli-born Yosi and his group of musician-dads have released five award-winning CDs and are known for their high-energy performances and hilarious covers of classic rock songs. 3 p.m. McLean Community Center's Alden Theatre.  $15/person ($10/McLean Community Center Tax District residents.)
