M Resort under construction in Henderson

Lately a lot of attention has been directed at the north end of the Strip where Wynn Resorts is building the Encore, Boyd Gaming is putting up the Echelon Place and The Palazzo next to the Venetian is about to open. All that and the condominiums going there and later other resorts will certainly change the skyline in a major way.

In the opposite end of the famed boulevard things are beginning to stir, too. Near the intersection of I-15 and St. Rose Parkway, a west Henderson location, M Resort owns an 80-acre parcel where it's constructing a hotel and casino complex that'll initially have 390 rooms, a good-sized gaming floor, 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, a host of restaurants and of course a large pool feature. The site could accommodate a lot more, but right now the company prefers to start smaller and study how the market evolves in the coming years.

Actually, the city of Henderson has already approved plans for the location that include 3,000 hotel rooms, another 3,000 condos and 1 million square feet of retail space. Expect that to happen down the road, give the development the coveted title of a mega resort and provide a substantial economic boost to the area.

M Resort developer is thrilled to point out that one of his stronger selling points will be the elevated land that allows straight views of the Las Vegas skyline from just about everywhere on property. The theme of the hotel is contemporary Italian and its estimated completion is set on spring of 2009.

Sounds great. It is good to hear that Henderson is also expanding into the entertainment industry.
