Make that Right Step Forward.  He is the man, Martin Luther King Jr., who brought this day of peace andMartin Luther Kings writings equality of all men more to the forefront in our generation than anyone.  More than that he worked hard for justice in the USA and it was always through non-violent means.

Doctor King showed us how to meet the ways and means of hate with the strength in the power of love.  I hope you spend some part of today thoughtfully considering how you live your life, your job and helping someone in need.

As an agent of change in the real estate world, you meet people everyday who may bring you peace, strength or challenge you to the core of your values with their biases and dislikes.  How do you meet those difficult challenges in a positive way? How do you turn these negatives around into a better way?

We are out in the community and can be a strong force to shine in our positions to work for equality all people deserve.  Full throttle ahead activism is more in need today in each of our communities then ever.  What kind of strengths and passion do you contribute to in your locale?   Make a start today... It could be a better day of peace and equality...Make that right step forward.

Ginny...after we make that right step, we should continue making it, teaching successive generations that equality, hope, love, and peace are the solutions worth following.

Good morning, Ginny....there will always be people who dislike other people....some will never change because it's been drilling into them from a young age....but we're making progress, slowly....

Racism is such an ugly sentiment

MLK has put the other cheek to show the violence does not solve things. .

and he proved the world with his own assassination

Ginny, you are right about how we can be agents of change in our work every day. Martin Luther King followed his calling, chosing to make a difference by showing how violence and intolerance are not solutions. Discrimination is learned behavior coming from prejudice and hate. There is more work to do and your fine post is a reminder. In answer to your question, a simple act of kindness can go a long way in changing attitudes.

Ginny, I think we have progressed a lot with regards to racial discrimination since the '60's (not perfect, but better). Now it seems that wealth and opportunity are the big dividing factors. Maybe we were just never meant to be a nation united, but all we can do is keep on trying!

Dr. King was a very special and focused person who swayed the hearts and minds of Americans to do the right thing in protecting everyone's civil liberties. We need more men and women like him to continue to make America a bastion of freedom and greatness. I am very grateful to the men and women who have shaped this country and protected it. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.
