Our thoughts are with those who are/were affected by the wildfires in California. We encourage you to give to the Red Cross if you can - www.RedCross.org. This tragedy should remind us all to be as prepared as possible.
Every household should have an emergency kit. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it does have to be ready and accessible. At a minimum, your kit should contain:
- Water and Food for three days, for everyone in your home
- Flashlight and Radio, and two sets of batteries for each
- First Aid Kit, any needed prescription medicine & copies of prescriptions
- Emergency contact phone list: childcare, work, doctor, vet, family
These items should be in a sturdy, waterproof container, and stored somewhere easy to reach.
