Hi Knoxville Weekenders! Can you believe it's already the weekend? You know what that means, its time for some Weekend Fun, Knoxville Style!
Let's start off with the Healthy Living Expo at the Knoxville Convention Center on Henley St, on Friday and Saturday (1/20-21). Seniors get free admission on Friday. Exhibitors will provide information on such topics as Green Living, Nutrition, Fitness, and, of course, health. And there will even be some free or low cost health checks available. One of the weekly events I've neglected to add to our list, is Alive After Five presented by the Knoxville Museum of Art. Billed as a casually elegant atmosphere, Alive After Five is always on Friday nights, has a beer & wine bar, music, and delicious food. Did I tell you that parking is free? Do check their website to see who will be playing, each week.
If you want something a little faster, why not attend an Ice Bears game? Our professional hockey team plays at home (Coliseum) Friday night against the Columbus Cottonmouths. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
Sunday (1/21) UT Men's basketball team plays against UConn at 4 pm.
Of course, as we've been having an unseasonably warm winter so far, you might want to take a ride up to the Smoky's and try a day hike. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have some Weekend Fun, Knoxville Style!
