Doors into Tables

How many hollow-core doors are in this room? door blog 4

Actually there are four. Two on the wall and the two tables in the back of the room! I'm going to refer you to one of my blogs on Active Rain: A Table for All Seasons.

I know some of you have already seen this table before but I thought I would re-post since Thanksgiving is coming up  & many of you are trying to figure out how to set up an extra table. This is the easiest extra seating solution in the world!

Buy a hollow-core door, paint it, and set it up on two tray tables. That's it!

Your tables go well with the decor. Years ago my father made a table out of a door. It served us well.

Susan, my hobby is wood working and for years now I have also used a hollow core door on top of two saw horses. I love'em. The room looks beautiful!

Susan - Thanks for the repost. I had seen your original post on this idea and I know you used the tray tables.

Rob  - I have looked so many places to try to find wooden saw horses. I only have found the newer plastic ones. Can you tell where to find them?

I have made a long narrow table out of a sidelight from a front door.  All I added was legs and black paint.  It's great.  I am going to try and find a picture and post it later.  Really nice room by the way.

Rhonda, if you can't find wooden saw horses, you can make your own. You can cut 2x4s to size.  There is hardware that will fit over the ends of the 2x4s to make a saw horse.  I think I might have seen them in the Brookstone catalog.

Great idea! I wouldn't know they were tables from the picture.  They go great with the coffee table.  Well done.
