A group of local golf and business professionals has bought the Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs for an undisclosed sum.
New owner HB Partners I, LLC is headed by Stuart Kaufman and Jamie Kaufman, a 10-year marketing executive; real estate attorney Alfred Denowitz; and Joe Dileo. A 30-year PGA tour member, Tommy Fonseca, is to be director of golf. Fonseca does the Sunday golf recap on Fox Sports for South America. A former Tournament Player's Club course and past home of the PGA's Honda Classic, Heron Bay Golf Club is to remain a semi-private club open to the public with 18 holes.
The new owners said they will add a fleet of golf carts with a GPS system, expand the menu at the Heron Bay Grill and insert Nike golf apparel into the Pro Shop.
Heron Bay Golf Club, at 11801 Heron Bay Blvd., is capped at 225 memberships.
The club is a member of the premier card system in which guests pay $200 for the card entitling them to play golf at Heron Bay Golf Club as well as more than 10 additional courses throughout South Florida for only the cost of the cart fee.
