Just recently 1835 members, both Canadian and American, of the Active Rain Real Estate Network voiced their opinion in a poll on their respective local real estate markets for 2012 and you can read the results here in the post Real Estate Recovery Or Not? 2012 Predictions by the Pro's Infographic.

While there is still much left to be desired across the U.S. most Canadian Realtor's® that took part in the poll are predicting good things for the Canadian Market

Kathy:  Although the public expects us to make predictions about the market it's really difficult to do especially with all of the ups and downs our economy is going through.  Until unemployment is up and small businesses have a reason to hire, not much will change.  So true that all real estate statistics are local too!

You are so right, clearly local issues, events and circumstances can and often will dramatically impact local real estate markets, even though the national trends may go one way, local reality may be pointing in an oposite direction... Great post
