CUSTOMER SERVICE!

An area of business that so many people complain about.

Yesterday I was having some problems with my cell phone.  (I was bit by technology again)

I was standing around as the guy in the store was working on my problem.  Meanwhile, some young twit came in and started to rant loudly about the junk phone the store had sold her.  The other person attending the store was very nice.

He took the phone and started to work on the problem.  It had been maybe 5 minutes and she started to get more agitated and louder.  Then she got my dander up.  She called the worker...STUPID!

That is when I stepped in and gave her a bit of a "Manners" lesson.  Meanwhile, the worker finished working on her phone.  The 'TWIT' had caused her own problem and it was TOTALLY her fault.  Sad part, after the guy explained what had happened, she took her phone and walked out and didn't even say thank you.

Both guys thanked me because I said what needed to be said but they would not have been able to.

Unless you have been in the person's shoes that is helping you...yelling and name calling will get you no where.

I have seen many times people yelling at the customer service personnel when it has been totally the customers fault.

I know, not all customer service people are good or even care...but rude treatment is not necessary!

Bill...

I see a lot more of this these days. It seems like manners have become a thing of the past.

Manners? Miss Manners has left the earth if you ask me.  It is only getting worse.

Gutsy to step up like that.  But, sometimes people need to be put in their place.

The guy was trying really hard to fix theproblem and did not deserve the treatment he was getting.  Once in a while, you just have to say something!

Many, many years ago my family owned a resort on a lake. At the age of about 14, I was a waitress in the dining room.

Well, getting decent cooks to live and work on a remote lake (with no city to play in) isn't easy, so we had some doozies. And guess who got yelled at when the food wasn't right or when it took an hour to get a meal?

You guessed it - the person in front of them, which was me.

These incidents weren't the customer's fault, but they weren't mine either.

If you're going to complain, think first about who caused the problem.
