You are ready to close Monday, now Tuesday, maybe Thursday..well it is now Friday tomorrow and it looks like Monday...well the sellers says sure it only costs us $92 per day..take your time...whenever you like...who pays we all pay since the seller remembers only the bad and not your good work...the loan officer pays since he will not get any more loans and the general excitement is now worn down to vanilla service!   Please Banks and Loan originators...DO NOT promise what you can not deliver on! Period!!!  In this quiet summer month with a vacant house and all the seller's docs in order...the hurdle of getting a Home Insurance Binder caused a 3 day over the weekend delay....Disgusted once again!

Jay we must have had the same kind of day today. We both had the same thought for a blog. As long as I've been doing this I never get used to delays. I agree with you. Don't tell me 3 days if you mean 7! Check out my related post.

Jay, home insurance binder is not the loan originators fault.  The commitment is issued and the attorney and the buyer are to get this homeowners insurance binder not the loan originator.  I can get insurance binders within an hour!  Never has slowed me down.  You need to work with a loan officer that is on top of the game from start to finish, hmmmm, kind of like me! Oops, sorry a little self-patting on the back for myself.

Always,

Nima

The point is not to promise what you can not deliver.  The trick is to show value in your presentations without over promissing and always keep something back so you can WOW them.

Jay,

In this market, our associations become more important than ever.  The need for all of us to ensure there are no unprofessional people involved in the transaction has never been greater.  Guide your buyers (if the buyer was yours) to work with people you know.  Thanks for the invite to the A/R community
