Where have all the Good Homes Gone ?

"Where have all the Good Homes Gone ?"

Have you ever gone to check out a home for a listing and thought to yourself this Homeowner can't be serious ? Why is it that the homeowner would call a Realtor without bothering to clean or at least straighten up before I came calling.

Now, honestly I don't get too crazy about these things because we all know how to get a home ready for an open house. I'm talking about a house that is just plain old not ready for ""company" and that's putting it nicely. I'm just looking for presentable. I actually had to step over things, it was way beyond dishes in the sink and beds not maid. (..I know we've seen it all)

Look, we all are not “Hazels”...(and I know I'm showing my age, but I did love that show. )   What would possess a homeowner to make a phone call before looking and taking a constructive look at what surrounds them ?

As Realtors we all know how to stage our homes in the most favorable way to get it sold.  RIGHT ?

It's just what we do to work our little miracles to get to that all important serendipitous moment of a buyer signing off on an offer.

So,..When I say “Where have all the Good Homes Gone”, I'm actually mimicking a song in my head about a man...  (..just my little humor.)

Let's face it a Listing is a Listing is a Listing period.  I will certainly not turn down the opportunity for another sale and I'm sure you won't either.  In theory they all have potential to be a “Good Home” and getting to that “serendipitous moment”. You just have to find it, and every home is different in what it may need from you the Realtor.

In the end every house sells EVENTUALLY. ...So, again in answer to my question “Where have all the Good Homes Gone ?  The answer is thier out there in many shapes and sizes and I will definately  take them, call me.

Oh,.. and If it's not too much trouble, please make the bed before you call.

Alright, Angela, there is NO WAY you are old enough to know who Hazel is! :-)  You make such a great point about ensuring the home is ready to show - a little time and attention really means $ to the sellers - so why might they not prep for the REALTOR listing their home?  It's a puzzler!

Hi Angela - your post brings back many bad memories.  I've seen too many trashed houses to count.

P.S. You're too cute to have such a poor quality profile picture.  Let's have a good one.
