HOW ARE YOU LIVING?
LIFESTYLE is not just for the “Rich & Famous.”
Are YouLivingYour Dream? Do you think your lifestyle depicts who you truly are? This weekend I went to the movies to see “Good Deeds” and I must tell you… I came out of there asking myself how many of us are living our true life and what is the true meaning of “LIFESTYLE"?
A lifestyle is a way of life or style of living that reflects the outlook, value and approach that an individual takes and live out their life. The term lifestyle became very popular with the syndication of the TV series “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” which ran from 1984 through 1995. The show highlighted the flamboyant lifestyles of super wealthy individuals, most being business tycoons, and an array of entertainers and athletes. Even though this show captured the vast majority of people's attention from all walks of life, it was frowned upon as being superficial and extravagant.
I believe the tides have turned and the majority of people have come to look at the term as I described as “The way one chooses to live their life.” The term “lifestyle” is not merely monetary, it is unique to each individual. You are the painter, your life is the canvas, and events are your paint colors, material possessions are your brushes and people who come in and out of your life are your inspiration. You as the painter decide what to paint and how you will paint it. How are you painting? How are you living?
Have you truly stopped to think about how you would like to design your BIG picture? I personally think of lifestyle as a way of existing. Each day I have a desire to live the best day ever! The best day ever for me is sleeping in late, resting a weary mind and body. The best day ever could be me spending the day with my girls out shopping and dining at a local restaurant. The best day ever for me is giving my clients everything I have to get their home sold! Think hard on how you would like to live your life.
I encourage you to take out a notebook as a wish list or better yet, get a big construction board and paste pictures to it and create your dream board and begin putting your dreams out where you can see them daily. I’ve done this twice in my life and I promise you more than 75% of the things I posted to my dream board went from a dream to my reality! Don’t let anyone else tell you what should be on your dream board or your wish list. This is your painting and no other person can live your life but you!
Others can’t tell you, that you need a BIG house when you truly want a smaller townhome or condo that that you can manage and keep clean on your own. Others may tell you what the latest style of clothing is but you feel comfortable in classic styles. If traveling is your thing, go! Go often and go far. If your lifestyle consists of giving and helping others, do it! Give what you want, when you want. If you like your alone time, you like to get away for a drive, jump in that car and let your hair down! What I’m trying to say here is… DO YOU! It may not come to us all at once, but little by little we can design a lifestyle we were meant to live.
This weekend when I went to see the movie I had no idea what it was about. I find it a little ironic that the very core of the movie was about the very thing I share on my Facebook Fan Page Dallas Fort Worth Lifestyle and Lisa Payton Realtor. As this page grows and the fan base increase, we are adding more and more features and information every day about working, playing, and living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
