We have all seen movies with implosions of old buildings and thought How cool is that? Well Orlando saw that very thing on Sunday March 25, 2012 with the implosion of the old Amway Arena that was in existence for 23yrs. It drew quite a crowd and will probably be in some movie in the future. The demolition is making way for a new Creative Village that will be a 68 acre mixed-use, transit oriented, urban infilled neighborhood. When complete, the high-quality, sustainable neighborhood development will support a diverse and dynamic mix of uses, including office/creative space, higher education space, K-12 education space, residential units, retail/commercial space and 150 to 200 hotel rooms.
