How could I not notice these flowers growing in Mayor Wilson’s yard in Dillsboro, NC?

I’ve never seen any quite like them and yes…you got it, unless someone in ActiveRain recognizes them…

Mayor Wilson's Flowers 3 copyright 2012 Mona Gersky

the only name I’ve got for them will have to be “Mayor Wilson’s Orange Flowers“!

Good morning Mona. The flowers are gorgeous and I love the pictures. Morever, I want these flowers for my garden: they look like impatience? A new picture of the Office Manager...? Looking strong.

Heh, I like the color orange but it needs to be brighter so it matches my Oklahoma State Cowboys!

I think Rob has it right in the VOL color. Too bad, they could be so pretty with a little more orange.  ;-)

Ha, Mona, "knock knock"...but I guess you already know the punchline....  :-)

Love the orange color - such a spark of spring'ness!

I see #12 made the connection already. Your first line reminded me of all those knock knock jokes that are so hysterical to children around the age of 4. My son couldn't get enough way back when and even his preschool teacher was starting to get irritated.

Roger, you aren't a spoiler...you are a little spoiled though because we all indulge you, lol.  Like the Office Manager though...some critters were just designed to be spoiled.

Jeanne and Ralph...I kinda sorta did!

Sue, we got a ton of rain too.  Guess we did need it.

Sheila, thanks for noticing Sienna's new pic.  She does look strong.  Impatience, hmmm?  Me or the flower?  lol

Than, I'll look for a flower of just that hue for you.  I'm discovering new blooms all the time.

Karen, orange you glad I didn't say banana?

Carie, I think Mayor Wilson's orange flower has a nice ring to it.

Roger, similar but the orange flower only has four petals.

Jill, I still crack up at knock knock jokes.

Spoiled?  I resemble that remark.............have your people call my people when you figure out what type of flower this is, please.

Roger...don't wait up, lol!  Actually, I just got off the phone with the Mayor and he asked his wife...they are called California poppies.

Mona, Those are gorgeous flowers!  I had no idea what they were called, so I was willing to go with your name for them, besides California Poppies sounds sort of boring!

Hi Mona, I have to agree, "Mayor Wilson's Orange Flowers" has a much nicer ring to it. Love the orange, too!

Hi Elyse, I spotted these from more than a block away.  Apparently they've been growing there for years but this was the first time I ever noticed them.

They are orange four leaf clovers...but of course. Well they will be until someone comes up with a better name!

Mona, I would be honored to sit next to you at Boot Camp.

Is that flower really that orange or did you enhance it somehow? Love your "Office Manager".

Hi John,  nope...no enhancements on these particular photos.  In fact, the day was overcast which I think added to the richness of the color.  Thanks...the Office Manager is very special.
