This turkey was a ham!

While driving to a home inspection yesterday this is not what I expected to see crossing the road!

 

 

As I pulled over to grab my camera he stopped turned around 

Fanned his tail feathers and posed for the photo!

What a ham!

Then he walked off into the woods.

 

Now this doesn't look like your typical wild turkey so I think 

someone in his family line escaped from the farm! 

 

Was a great sight to see!

Great picture Carol. I agree with you. This turkey either escaped from a farm or is the descendant of an escapee.

Carol - I don't believe I have ever seen a turkey with colors like that one.  The domestic ones I'm familiar with are all white.  And the wild turkeys are more brownish and gray in color.  Your bird is spectacular, and I can understand why he feel entitled to strutt his stuff:-)
