Rain in Carlsbad New Mexico? Is this actually possible?

As many of you know, here in Carlsbad New Mexico we have not gotten but very, very little rain over the past couple of years.

I had just got home when the clouds started coming in from the South West.

The start of a good storm?

I thought this cloud looked pretty neat with the "mushroom shaped head" it was to get bigger.

Thunderhead growing in size.

And the last shot before it got too dark to stay out in the what we call the "RAIN".

Rain in Carlsbad, New Mexico

Yes we finally got some RAIN last night, and it's still raining this morning. In many parts of the country you have rain as a weekly occurence. Here... we have not seen a very good rain for at least "TWO YEARS".

Now you can see why I am getting excited.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and week ahead.

Thank you Joe for the re blog.

It's been a tough two years for us. The city has even started with the watering laws and no washing your vehicles at your home either.

It's better with a little rain. But we need a lot more.

Best, Clint McKie

Water is actually a commodiity that is more valuable then oil.

I have never understood why this country does not develop desalination plants and pipelines for water and pump the H2O into the arid areas of the west.
