Stranded, Hungry, and Homeless

Stranded, hungry, and homeless and god bless... that was a sign being held up by a man as I was exiting the Walmart parking lot.  I am naive; in my younger years I never would have believed that we have homeless people here in Canton, Ohio.  In my mind I was thinking that no one would be able to be homeless here because it gets too cold.  It got me thinking about how this poor man ended up in this situation and about how lucky I am.

I have a home, food to eat, and a job.  Sometimes I find myself longing for a bigger, nicer home, or more money to buy clothes with, or that I need to get the latest and newest gadgets.  It seems that we are never truly happy with what we have and are always longing for more money and bigger and better things.

Do you ever stop and take a moment to think that somewhere out there is a person who would love to be blessed with everything you have?  I know someone out there would appreciate having my home, and my car, and my family etc.  There is always someone who has it worse than you.  I truly am thankful for everything I have been blessed with.  I'd like to remind you all to stop for a moment and give thanks for all that you have been blessed with.

You can't help but wonder about their signs and their situation.  I just hope they get the help they need.
