Misprision is the new word of the day.

If you dissect the word you may get the wrong meaning and unless you know this word I bet you will.  Well now care to take a guess?  To give you a hint we did this long ago.  Still need the meaning OK here goes the meaning of (mis prizh’ en is act of contempt against a government or court.  Like a contempt of government in 1776.  There is another meaning and I find that one near to us and it is a mistake, now especially one due to misreading, either deliberate or unintended, or to misunderstanding can we say contracts?  What say you?

James, it's hard to top Josh's comment but let's try...I imagine the consequences in the 1700s were pretty severe for misprision.  If you were lucky I guess you'd be in the stockade with people throwing rotten tomatoes.  Unlucky? There were probably awful things done.  Good word, now how to work it into a conversation...

There is another definition of this word that would be easy to use in a sentence: a neglect or violation of official duty by one in office.   Enter elected official's name here_____________.  Great blog James. Way to make us think a little.

Another word I have never heard of.  I looked at it and my first thought was something to do with prison.  I guess my first thought wasn't to far off as you may end up there if you cause misprision.

I understand the first definition, but don't know why someone would intentionally misinterpret a contract!  Toward what end?  It still binds!
