Yard Sale Saves Family's Home in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
For all the positive market reports, and anecdotal stories, these are still very difficult times for too many.
While probably not Janna's intent, am re-blogging because it reminded me that as more comfortable it is to go with all the happy stuff, it's crucial to remember that in a little over five months we will have one of the best opportunities ever to bolster real change.
As a citizen, focus on the core issues, what is close to your heart, and make sure you are registered to VOTE.
And REALTORS-it would not be a bad thing to include a voter change of information form from your local Board of Elections for your new homeowners, along with the registration deadline. Even blog about it, put it in your newsletter...you have this power to do amazing good, at no real cost. Just sayin'.

There was a heart warming story in the local news this week. Seems a family of 8 was facing foreclosure of their home if they didn't come up with $1005. Having been unemployed until recently, the newly employed dad wouldn't have received pay enough in time.
This family of 8 lives in a double wide mobile home on five rural acres. They came up with a plan. They announced a yard sale to save their home. They would have a yard sale, and sell everything they own, anything they had that anyone was willing to buy.
Their story hit the newspaper, and the rest is history. People showed up for two days, not to buy their few earthly possessions, but to make donations. The family raised three times the amount needed, in spite of their efforts to decline donations once they had the sum they needed.
In another heartwarming twist, the homeowners plan to partner with local churches to use their windfall to assist local elderly with services such as house cleaning.
