Ok, so I'll admit that even at my ripe old age (as you can tell from my photo), that I like cars because they get me around this big city. Yet, I'll also admit that I'm not a car guy. What? Yes, you heard it right. I'm not a car guy. Cars are a utility much like a fork is helpful but absolutely not required to eat. Therefore, going to the car wash once a week as some others regularly do has not been something on my little to do list.
By chance, I had some extra time between appointments yesterday morning and I stopped into a full-service car wash business and decided to accept the early-bird special and get the full package (not the waxing though due to the 45min-1hour that would have been necessary).
After pulling into their garage bay and turning over the keys, 15 or so minutes later, a team of guys returned my vehicle to me and it shined like it was brand new (it's actually 10 years old), the rims were sparkley, there were no mudspots (we appraise a number of real estate construction projects), and there was no more accumulated dust on the speedometer and dashboard.
Truly, I was shocked at the difference some money and those 15 minutes or so of their efforts made on my vehicle. So, at least for me for a day, washing the car really did make a difference. I even felt better and smiled a bit bigger yesterday.
So, go wash your car. You too might just smile a bit bigger today.
