An article in todays's local paper revealed some interesting facts:

Litchfield County single-family home sales: In 2006 a total of 2,322

In 2007 a total of 2,096, for a 9.7 percent decline.

Fairfield County single-family home sales: In 2006 a total of 8,571

In 2006 a total of 8,120, for a 5.3 percent decline.

What's interesting is that the falling sales have NOT kept prices from rising.

The median sales price for single-family homes in Connecticut rose 2 percent compared to the same point in 2006-from $263,250 in November 2006 to $268,500 in November 2007. November's median price was up 1.3 percent from October's median of $265,000.

The figures were reported by The Warren Group. a producer of several real estate publications.

Oh yes, prices are rising in some instances here in Florida...it's season, and they are here with a vengance, not complaining...no sleep for me.  However, sales here are increasing, not falling!  :-)  As always, I am positive and being that way get's me some nice referrals.

If you ignore the media, the customers are there...just waiting for someone who is not complaining about the market, but doing their best to improve it...JMO! Karen
