The Highlands of St. Michael Minnesota is a development where the homes are newer, meaning most were built between 2003 and 2006.
Located between St. Michael and Albertville, there are four main entrances into the development, one on the North, just off 50th Street or County Road 18, one on the East, just off MacIver, and two just off Frankfort Parkway.
The homes are generally three to four bedrooms , but there are the occasional six bedroom homes as well. The total finished square footage ranges between 4,036 and 1,657. Lot sizes average between .23 acres and .37 acres with some homes backing up to green space.
Getting to the freeway (I-94) to drive to St. Cloud (36 miles northwest) or Minneapolis (25 miles southeast) is about three miles to the north of the development.
The development offers, through its association fees quite a few amenities such a neighborhood pool, pool house, gazebo, playground, basketball court, and picnic area with BBQ grills. The pool is definitely a community gathering spot during the hot days of summer here in Minnesota! And there is a pond to skate on in the winter, too!
The common areas are very well kept and with the winding roads in the development, you will see families and couples strolling in the evenings and on weekends.
The development is well-situated for getting the kids to any of St. Michael-Albertville’s award-winning schools.
Taxes average around $4,000 per year and the association fees are $350 per year.
The Highlands is a commuter’s dream come true with St. Cloud just 35 miles north, and Minneapolis just 25 miles southeast. In and around St. Michael, we have lots of parks, bike trails and the Pelican Lake Waterfowl Refuge, Beebe Lake County Park, Crow-Hassan Park Preserve, Fox Hollow Golf Course, and the St. Michael City Center Complex which houses the St. Michael City Hall, the St. Michael Senior Center and the Great River Regional Library.
When you want a small town feel and the luxury of knowing your neighbors, the Highlands in St. Michael might be the one spot you definitely want to check out.
Only nine homes have been sold in this much-sought after development over the course of the past year (time period of June 2011 and June 2012).
