Etheridge Lakes in Chesapeake, Virginia is one the most popular neighborhoods for people to call home when relocating to Hampton Roads.  Etheridge Lakes is part of the expansive interwoven neighborhoods in the Hickory area of Chesapeake which boast one of the most highly rated school systems in the area.  Etheridge Lakes is comprised of primarily higher end homes but there are some that more modestly priced.  Two story homes are the norm in Etheridge Lakes and many of the homes have inground swimming pools.  There are several man-made lakes within the Etheridge Lakes community which provide some great opportunities for kayaking and also are a lovely place for local water fowl to call home.

Etheridge Lakes does not have a Homeowners' Association and the requisite fees that an HOA requires.  Therefore, there is not the requirement to get permission prior to making changes to the exterior of one's home.  With few exceptions, home owners in Etheridge Lakes maintain a high standard for the appearance of their properties although there are a few homes that might elicit a "what are they thinking?" comment. (Just trying to keep it real!)

Etheridge Lakes is located in southern Chesapeake and is minutes from the 168-bypass which provides speedy access to all areas of Hampton Roads or a weekend getaway to the outer banks of North Carolina.  The nearest grocery store is a Harris Teeter and a local branch of Navy Federal Credit Union is a mere five minutes down the road from the neighborhood.

Etheridge Lakes homes have maintained their value over the years. However, they did experience a downturn in value in the years from 2007 to 2011.  During 2012, it appears that values have stabilized and stopped their downward momentum which is great news for people who are considering selling in the neat future.

Etheridge Lakes Schools
