Be thankful for those around you each and every day! Tell them often how much you love them, how much you appreciate them and say those magic two words 'THANK YOU"!
My Assistant went to Las Vegas and all I got was a glitzy zebra stripped coffee mug! Actually this was the perfect thing for me as I am totally an animal print freak, have always loved a little glitz and I can't start the day without my coffee!
Actually I did know how much I appreciate Darlene, my assistant. I do not forget it for a moment, because she is the glue behind the scenes making my business days sail and soar in a way I could never do alone. She did not have to leave town before I appreciated her, but oh how I thought of her and missed her the hours and days she was gone.
Seeing the vacant spot in the parking lot each morning was a reminder and all through each day I would miss her. A special gift she left for me before leaving was that she thought ahead, thinking of anything I might need and setting up as many of the work activities as possible before she left. I finally had to tell her the evening before she was leaving when we were caught late at the office to please just go!
She's back! The first thing I saw upon her return was her car in the parking lot and her smiling face when I came in the office. Call me happy, yes! Odd thing, I think she was happy to be back at work also.
Gentle reminder, just say please and thank you to all the unsung heroes in your world.
