83 Year Old Virginia REALTOR Attacked by Rabid Beaver in Lake Barcroft

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Distinctive / LIC in VA

That's one tough agent. Longtime REALTOR Lillian Peterson swam on a regular basis in Lake Barcroft in Falls Church VA. But looks like a rabid beaver attack might have ended her routine. Copy and Paste above link to read the story and I think you'll understand why, and I can't blame her. Lillian mentioned she has been a member of the Multi Million Dollar sales club for 45 years. She wants to heal up and get back to selling real estate. Lillian is actually lucky to still be alive thanks to the efforts of a good samaritan who witnessed the attack, and went to help her fight off the rabid beaver.

Wishing her a speedy recovery! She's with Long and Foster in Falls Church VA. www.lilpeterson.com if anyone wants to drop her a note or get well soon email.

#1- Hi Tamra, Thanks!  Seems like cases of rabid animals has increased arounfd here. She is lucky it wasn't worse.

#2- Hi Judi, Those bites sound painful, and I heard the required shots aren't any picnic either. Thanks!

Jeff~we build 'em TOUGH in real estate!  This actually is a testament to staying in shape both mentally and physically. And the divine intervention that occurred with that fella doing a fishing lesson JUST AS SHE GOT ATTACKED...amazing. (Sadly, the poor beaver was pretty badly off with what seems like the obvious later stages of rabies...that part bothered me, too).

I'm glad she decided not to swim there anymore. Thank you for sharing that very unusual story!

Jeff, Wow, was that a beaver or a short sale bank negotiator?  lol, only kidding about the bank negotiatior.  What a story!  I do hope Ms. Peterson has a speedy recovery and can get back to swimming and selling!  Thanks for sharing :)

How frigtening if the fisherman had not been nearby - she might not have survived this unusual attack.

#4- Hi Gayle, You gotta be tough to last 40+ years in real estate. I got a feeling she'll be swimming again. Thanks!

#5- Hi Christina, Some negotiators might want to tak a bite of some agents, but this was different.

#6- Hi Margaret, that's very true. I just saw a pic of her on huffington Post in her hospital bed, and she looks like she's feeling better.

#7- Hi Anna, Yeah, poor but tough lady. Even in pain after the attack, she didn't miss her chance to say ( plug) on tv that she was lifelong real estate agent and 45 year member of the million dollar sales club. She's with Long and Foster in Falls Church VA. www.lilpeterson.com if you want to send he ra get well soon email. I think I'll add that up top to the blog in case anyone else wants to drop her a note or email.

Jeff:  It just goes to show ya... you can never trust a rabid beaver.  By the way, here is a link for the article you referenced in your post.  Rabid beaver attacks 83-year-old woman.  This should make it easier for anyone who wants to read the original news article.

Anna:  This woman sure has her own brand of BananaTude, doncha think ?

Geeze, Jeff!  This is something I've never worried about!  And there are so many varieties of wildlife in this area!  Raccoons, maybe.  But I've never heard of a rabid beaver.

#9- Hi Erica, some stories just can't be made up! Very strange occurence indeed.

#10- Hi Karen, Thanks for the link. It's rare just to see a beaver, but to be attacked by one is a rare occurence.

#11- Hi Patricia,It is strange to be attacked by a rabid beaver. I've seen plenty of rabid ground hogs, and rabid foxes around here, and have seen healthy beavers, but never a rabid beaver. How does a beaver get rabies anyway? Maybe got in a fight on land with a rabid fox? I would guess that some other animal in that area also has rabies.
