CONVENTIONal WISDOM...Fran's Friday Forum...!!!

Before anyone reads this post let me confess that much of what you will read is anecdotal on my part inasmuch as a fair number of speakers at BOTH REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATIC CONVENTIONS put me to sleep...!!!

I do have some interesting observations based on what I DID SEE AND HEAR...I will share these with you in no particular order except the order in which my memory recalls them...

***Many speakers at the DNC sounded ROMNEYESQUE

***Vice President Biden’s choking up when speaking of our beloved troops across the globe seemed Phony to me...JMHO

***Four more years should be granted based on the record, not empty promises

***What would make anyone trust President Obama and his administration in light of their past promises

***The DNC convention presentation was very BIDENESQUE

***How did ‘THE GOVERNMENT’ create ‘PRIVATE SECTOR’ jobs

***Why do some deny what they say even after being proven wrong by replayed tapes

***Why was it so important to know how many gays, Latinos, blacks, etc were present at the DNC if not to create division and separation

***Funny how Governor Romney was accused of being for ‘GLOBALIZATION’ while President Obama was for ‘AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM’....Huuuuh...

***Buy stock in KOOL AID

***SHOW ME THE MONEY

***I’m still trying to figure out the ‘GM FIX’...I thought the actual workers should get a piece rather than their UNION BOSSES

***GEEE...that’s all for now...I’m sorry I missed the closing PRAYER at the DNC

***There is still only ONE PARTY who upholds 'THE LIFE PRINCIPLES'...HINT...Their mascot is as big as life...Noooooo not the little jackass...!!!

In the words of CLINT EASTWOOD...’We’ll just have to let him go’...Chicago deserves him...!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND...!!!

 

P.S....SUGGESTION: Compare Artur Davis' speech with former Florida Governor Charlie Crist's...!!!

Biden's son is a Major in the Army National Guard and has deployed to Iraq...I think Joe has a 'right' to be choked-up when speaking about the troops...his son is one.

And didn't you find it strange that Romney did not mention 'the troops' or Afghanistan during his speech?  Afterall he is running to the next Commander in Chief....right?

Another odd, yet seemingly inconsistent myth is how Dems are for conservation...Wind mills, rows and rows of solar panels, don't seem that much appealing to the eye or the brain...!!! Yet, we can get oil, coal, and natural gas easily from below the Earth's surface beneath our very feet...Go figure...!!!

P.S. BTW, all this mumbo jumbo about 'CORPORATIONS'...This from Wikipedia:

I myself get genuinely choked up whenever I think of anyone in harm's way...and I'm not saying Biden wasn't...Just saying TO ME it seemed phony, contrived, and staged much like him standing at graveside of his wife who was killed in an accident in the DNC video played Thurs. PM...!!!

I think everyone crying at a stupid convention on both sides is silly and staged - how come everyone starts crying when Obama speaks even if everyone states he wasn't on his game and he under delivered??? He didn't say anything inspiring - so why the tears?

There is plenty of Hollywood and Madison Avenue PR on each side to go around...Way more substance however, at the RNC...!!!

Karl you may have gotten something mixed up as Bidens son is on an aircraft carrier that supposedly  supports the war in Iraq, it is undisclosed for security reason. I doubt that it is true because can you imagine the target on the troops where he would be and surely even Biden wouldn't put troops in harms way for a publicity stunt.

It's amazing to me how the current dem ads seem so much like the Republican's message...!!! They know they can't win on their record or the present economic conditions, but yet they seem to be able to fool many people...!!!

Fran - I watched the Republican Convention and it was beyond boring. If this is how they plan to energize people, it is lost like 4 years ago.

It is a great cause, and weak leaders.

Coming elections, who am I going to vote for. To tell you the truth? I am not going to vote for Romney even though I will circle his name on the ballot.

I am voting against Obama and tis is the only way I can do it.
