Banks Are They Totally Crazy ?

By
Real Estate Agent with Premiere Plus Realty Co.Marco Island, FL

Banks Are They Totally Crazy ?. I believe they are. Here on Marco Island in South West Florida we have had very few foreclosures. However, the ones that we still have on the market could be marketed in a much better way.

Why do Banks think that is appropriate to,

List with an agency that is in some cases 100 miles away from the subject property.

The agent does not have access to the local MLS  so Realtors have trouble tracking down the property.

The agent does not know the local signage restrictions hence no sign on the property.

When eventually the listing agent has been tracked down the agent does not return phone calls.

I wonder why these properties are not selling. I can tell you why...... The Banks are Totally Crazy.

Susan you may be onto something. I list and sell alot of Bank Owned homes here in NH and see so many more listed to out of town agents who cant be bothered to do anything to assist anyone who wants to buy it. Then there is in the case of Fannie or Freddie giving the same few agents who already have 100 plus listings and dont answer questions, dont answer their phones or never confirm that they got the offer I submitted. Things seem to be similar everywhere Susan.

Hi Scott,

Yes I have heard it's the same all over. What a ridiculous policy and I always thought that agents were supposed to always guarantee that they would give their listings the maximum exposure and that is clearly not happening.

That is a strange way to do business. It is vital for the agent to know the market in order to represent the bank appropriately.
