Do you want those kids out of trouble? Keep them busy!
Throughout the Hudson Valley our youth are offer a wide array of activities.
Football and soccer and other outdoor organized sports are winding down for the youth in our area. Basketball and indoor soccer leagues are now starting. Highland, New Paltz and all the surrounding towns in Ulster County offer year round sports.
It always amazes me that in our small communities we have enough children to keep the leagues up and running. There is a great support of volunteers that keep the kids active and learning.
This weekend the area gathers for the Annual Michael Oremus Soccer Tournament. Soccer Leagues of all ages come together at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton NY. The Tourmament is run by the Micheal Oremus Foundation, a charitable organization honoring Corporal Michael Oremus of a Highland who was killed in 2006 while on patrol in Bagdad, Iraq. For more information on the foundation visit www.MichaelOremus.org .
Leagues from around the area come together in good healthy competition. This is one of the wonderful things about the small towns such as Highland and New Paltz. The community supports the children and the need for physical activity.
Many families look to the Highland and New Paltz area to raise their family for just this reason. If you are looking for a great community to call home- visit- www.NewPaltzRealEstate.com or www.HighlandNYRealEstate.com . I would be happy to help you find a home and point you in the right direction to help your child find the activities that interest them.
