This was a completely different format as we have never had a trade show component to our Education Week. I believe we sold over 400 tickets this year!  A record!  Here's some feedback I've heard about the FVREB's event:

"Wow, we received rave reviews!  The Trade Show component was a huge success with very positive feedback from both exhibitors and members.  Evaluations also showed Mark Jefferies and Richard Robbins were very well received."

Great setup for networking.

Some people would have liked to see the trade show portion of the event, but did not want to pay for the entire week as they did not want to listen to the keynote speakers.  So they did not go.  We had our event over three days - two days & one morning keynote on the third day.  Vancouver held their event in one day.  Tradeshow + breakout sessions.  The difference could be the venue size - theirs was held at the Vancouver Convention Centre & had many more breakout sessions.

I found that Mark Jefferies provided practical sales-related information & the live 'demo' really got everyone involved with his presentation.  Richard Robbins, on the other hand, was all about motivating from within.

I've thought of some suggestions for next year:

More breakout rooms - focusing on real estate issues/topics rather than marketing pitches
Charge per speaker - members can pick & choose exactly what they want to learn/who they want to listen to
Real estate topics -  objection handling, listing presentation, how to do a CMA...no more motivation speakers!
