Grateful for the Little Ones in this Season of Gratitude
Do you take the time to see the joy and wonder that children bring to their view of the world. If you do, it seems inevitable to me that you will realize just how much both the little and big things mean to children. Hot chocolate and a cookie can bring the brightest of smiles to a child. Tell your child how much you love him, and see how his eyes gleam and the grin that is nearly impossible to wipe away comes to his face.
Tell him it's time to fly a kite at the park, and you'll think that you brought home a million dollars in cash.
Do you take the time to truly enjoy the small things in life, to look at life the way children do, to realize how many things there are for which you should be grateful, or are you caught up in the rat race of life wondering what you can buy next, what you need to do next, where you need to be next? What if you didn't get your Black Friday door buster deal? Does your child care? Would they rather you shared a book with them or some time just enjoying their company in the great outdoors?
If you're not enjoying every day, take time with your son, your daughter, nephew, niece, granddaughter, grandson, neighbor, friend's child, little brother or sister and see what they see, the small things that truly delight and are important to their lives.
What can you learn from the little ones?
