Real estate licensng in Illinois is now real estate broker only. As of May 1, 2011 the classification of real estate salesperson has been eliminated. All real estate agents must now be licensed as brokers.

David, I recently heard about this. What is the rationale behind the Broker's License requirement? Is it monetary, educational, or another reason?
It is educational not monetary. The state could care less aboutr your income. Many states are eliminating the saesperson classification, in order to promote the professionalism of the service to the public. Colorado is given as an example, they have not had a salesperson designation for several years.
