Indulge us once more and have a look at this video:

In our book "Staging Stories" by Alicia Barrington, we discuss Ludwig Wittgenstein's 'duck and rabbit' drawings.  We also bring in Bertrand Russell to tell us about how perception is based upon previous experience and context.   What do these rather lofty ideas have to do with home staging?

Professional home staging reveals value to the broadest section of potential buyers.   Many, many times, a professional home stager will be called in to rescue a lingering listing.   Professional home stagers will select and place decorative elements so that buyers can see both the 'duck' and the 'rabbit' in the listing.   This explains why our work produces such dramatic results.

This also explains why the random, willy-nilly placement of decorative items by untrained stagers, realtors,  and sellers don't produce the same results!

Professional Home Staging is attention directing, not attention getting!

Professional Home Staging delivers highly qualified customers who are ready to pay top dollar for a house that is perceived as having great value.   But our work is not an optical illusion.  We don't create a perception of value - we actually reveal hidden value that the home sellers have often forgotten!

To learn more about this topic.......... (guess where we're directing your attention), we suggest purchasing "Staging Stories" by Alicia Barrington!

Have a wonderful day

                           Warmest regards: Alicia Barrington

Hi Roger!

The eye is just the messenger in this process <G>!   It's the brain that is receiving the images and then processing those images through a filter of previous experienced images and information.  From there, a perception is created, and a thought is created: "I see a duck..."

Hope all is well!

Warmest regards; Alicia
