Holiday Events At The Brandywine River Museum, Chadds Ford, PA 2012
The Brandywine River Museum is one of my favorite places anytime of the year, but it is even more special during the Christmas holiday season. The reason is the museum is decorated with garlands and lights and there are trains and there is the beautiful art of the Wyeth Family all along the riverbank of the Brandywine River.
It is a lovely setting not far from the hustle and bustle of towns in Delaware County, Chester County, the state of Delaware, center city Philadelphia and beyond.
The holiday train display has been going on for years and it is fun for children of all ages to take a look at this world created by lovers of trains. This display is active until January 6, 2013.
The trees inside the atrium are decorated with handmade ornaments or critters from things found in nature, like pods from trees and bushes. This display is up until January 6, 2013.
There is a display going on right now featuring “Pop Up” Art which is an amazing art form where artists have created a scene that pops out at you when you turn a page in a book or open a card giving a three dimension to your reading experience.
Be sure to bring an appetite to the holiday events at the Brandywine River Museum and plan on having lunch at the museum’s restaurant. Sitting along the large windows in the restaurant looking out over the Brandywine River is a treat for me and hopefully it will be for you too.
If you are still in need of a gift for the holidays make sure you browse the Brandywine River Museum’s gift shop which offers many books, jewelry, handmade items, reproductions of art and much more.
Plan a visit to the Brandywine River Museum and enjoy the holiday season in a place that puts on the season!
