A big part of being a Park Cities REALTOR® is giving back to the community that we serve. Through my affiliation with Keller Williams, every year offices around the nation shut down for a full day to give back to the community. "Give where you Live" is the motto of Keller Williams "RED Day."
One day a year is simply not enough though. In the Dallas area, there are so many unfortunate people that need assistance that one day a year cannot even begin to make a dent in what happens every single day in our community.
With this in mind, I founded the idea for "Homes For Children's." While I have not yet gone through the steps to make this an official non-profit organization, it will be happening this year. The idea behind Homes For Children's is to give us the ability to give back to the community with every single closing. A portion of my commission is donated to Children's Medical Center Dallas in honor of the home buyer or seller.
The best part is that the buyer or seller gets to chose which department the donation goes to. It can go to the trauma center, the cancer center, the Child Life department, the Clown department, or one of their many outpatient specialty units. The client gets to decide where the money goes and it is usally targeted towards something that means something special to them, making the donation even more meaningful.
Today's closing was a nurse at Children's Medical Center. She and her family will be enjoying their new home tonight, and the children in the Pediatric ICU will soon be enjoying the benefits of this donation in her honor.
Please help me to Congrate Kendra on her new home!
